Who we are
YouSustain Conference is a flagship project of the Green Africa Youth Organization (GAYO), a youth-led gender-balanced advocacy group that focuses largely on environmental sustainability and community development. GAYO operates under three main thematic areas, climate change, circular economy, and disaster risk reduction.
The YouSustain Conference creates a platform for young people, developmental agencies, and researchers to have an intellectual discourse on how young people can be supported to contribute to urban sustainability in sub-Saharan Africa through ecopreneurship.

The YouSustain Conference (“YouSustain”) and Green Africa Youth Organization (GAYO) (We) value and respects your privacy. This “Privacy Notice” summarizes what personal information we collect, and how we use and disclose this information. By using this website, other GAYO websites, and any other platform we operate (our “Sites”), you signify your consent to the terms of our Privacy Notice. The Personal Information we collect may be used by GAYO for the purposes for which it was collected, as provided in this Privacy Notice, or for other purposes that are disclosed to you. By using our Sites, you are giving your consent for us to collect, use or disclose your Personal Information for these purposes.
For example, we may use your Personal Information to: process your registration for a conference or your application to be a beneficiary of our project; determine whether you are eligible to receive services; manage, operate, oversee, and administer our programs; support and monitor the participants who are on our programs; to share it with third-party agencies; to share it with the partner organizations that assist us with carrying out our purposes or to carry out any other purpose permitted or required by law. We also may disclose your Personal Information for any other purpose that we tell you about and to which you consent.
Some or all of the personal information we collect may be stored or processed in jurisdictions outside of Ghana. As a result, this information may be subject to access requests from governments, courts, or law enforcement in those jurisdictions according to laws in those jurisdictions.
Children and Youth
Although the collection of some Personal Information of children and youth is necessary to provide some of our services, we do not collect Personal Information from children under the age of 18 unless we have the consent of their parents or guardians. If you are a child or youth, you should review this Privacy Statement with your parents or guardians to make sure that you understand and consent to everything in it. If you are under the age of 18, you should not access our Sites or provide us with any Personal Information unless your parent or guardian has consented. If we discover that we have collected Personal Information from a child under the age of 18 without parental consent, we will delete that Personal Information.
How We Protect Personal Information
The security of your Personal Information is important to us. We protect your Personal Information by maintaining physical, organizational, and technological safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of such Personal Information. Personal Information may only be accessed by persons within the organizations implementing the YouSustain Conference who require such access to carry out our purposes as described above.
We retain Personal Information that we collect only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or to meet legal requirements. We securely destroy Personal Information when it is no longer needed.

You have a right to access your Personal Information and to request a correction to it if you believe it is inaccurate.
